Marking their first retail venture outside Los Angeles, Sportie LA opened phase I of their new store in San Diego. The store is located on Fifth Avenue in the heart of the GasLamp Quarter in downtown San Diego. "The Gaslamp Quarter is a very historic area ... There are a lot of restaurants, bars and retail shops. It's really the centerpiece of downtown San Diego," said co-owner Isack Fadlon. The second phase of the store will include "The Library" which will showcase 12 brands and tout limited-edition styles and one-of-a-kind items. Sportie LA now has 5 stores total, located in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles and San Diego.

Rapper/Actor Ice-T was featured in a new hidden camera reality show "I Get That a Lot" which aired on CBS on April 1st. The show put celebrities in everyday jobs, where they tried to convince shoppers they aren't who they appear to be. Ice T worked the sales floor as an associate of Sportie LA and did an amazing job fooling the shoppers.

Isack Fadlon of Sportie LA said he is eager to stock the exclusive Melrose shoe, a women's high-top in three different colors featuring in 3M-brand reflective materials. "What's promising is that [Fila is] in the beginning stages of this re-launch and this collaboration speaks to how they want to direct the product and the brand ... Artist Shyan Selah and Brave New World, Inc. performed and visited with fans in front Sportie LA. Shyan attracted students from Fairfax High School and fans from all over while performing some of his hit songs and signing autographs. In addition to Shyan's performance, NFL Super Bowl Champion & World Champion sprinter, Willie Gault was also present to to greet and sign autographs for fans. Sportie LA co-owner Eli Amzaleg and Shyan also raffled off a $75 gift certificate to one of the lucky students at the performance. "The turnout was tremendous and brought a positive element to the store," said Eli Amzaleg.
