Non-profit group Woodcraft Rangers' after school program teaches high school students about careers in fashion. With various companies such as Avid Ink, Ragfinders and LAX paperboys involved with the program, Sportie LA joined the group contributing shoes to the students to create their own specialized masterpieces that were celebrated and showcased on February 23rd at their store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. The event featured food, drinks (sponsored beverages from POM liqueur), live DJ and students from the program were on hand to design one of kind sneakers for all customers who purchased shoes during the event. Proceeds from sales during the event were donated to the Woodcraft Rangers program.

SHOP TALK - Sportie LA Heads South

Marking their first retail venture outside Los Angeles, Sportie LA opened phase I of their new store in San Diego. The store is located on Fifth Avenue in the heart of the GasLamp Quarter in downtown San Diego. "The Gaslamp Quarter is a very historic area ... There are a lot of restaurants, bars and retail shops. It's really the centerpiece of downtown San Diego," said co-owner Isack Fadlon. The second phase of the store will include "The Library" which will showcase 12 brands and tout limited-edition styles and one-of-a-kind items. Sportie LA now has 5 stores total, located in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles and San Diego.
